- St John Fisher Catholic High School24 May 2012Satisfactory
Park Lane, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE1 5JN
Inspection of St John Fisher Catholic High School, Peterborough, PE1 5JN
Your school is satisfactory. We particularly liked these features. Your standards reached in the main school and sixth form are rising. You mix well together, contributing to students feeling safe and supported. Your lessons increasingly benefit from good teaching, particularly those that involve you actively and provide clear feedback about your strengths and improvements to work on next. You show positive attitudes in most lessons and your attendance is improving. Your contribution to the school, particularly through your responsibilities and community events such as the drama production, is a strength. You develop and apply your literacy skills well in different subjects.
- The Duke of Bedford Primary School11 Jul 2012Satisfactory

Inspection of The Duke of Bedford Primary School, Peterborough, PE6 0ST
Your school is a satisfactory school and you make satisfactory progress. By the end of Year 6 you reach standards that are above average. Some of your lessons are good, but not all of them. We noticed that you try very hard to do the best you can in lessons, and that is one reason why we think your behaviour is good.

Inspection of Oakdale Primary School, Peterborough, PE2 8TD
We have asked the school’s leaders to make sure more of you do really well in writing, by giving you more opportunities to write at length. We have asked them to give you targets that are well suited to your needs to help you improve, and to make sure marking shows you the steps you need to take to reach your targets. We would also like those people in charge of subjects to have more time to check them carefully, especially in English and mathematics.

We think that your school is outstanding in every way. You make extremely good progress in your learning because your headteacher, governors, and everyone who teaches you work so effectively to make sure that everything they do is of high quality. Your work covers all the subjects you should learn. Your whole school, your classrooms, corridors and outside areas are full of displays which celebrate this work and help you think. These included wonderful examples of artwork, books with photographs of your teachers in Kenya and China and many other things.

Text from letter to pupils explaining the findings of the inspection
2 May 2008 Dear Students, Inspection of St John Fisher RC School, Peterborough, PE1 5JN I am writing to inform you of the outcomes of our inspection visit to your school. Firstly, I would like to thank you for the many conversations we had with a number of you who were all very honest and thoughtful about what they told us. It was good to see that so many of you value each other's cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. One of the positive findings of the inspection was our judgment that the sixth form is good. Students in the sixth form benefit from good teaching and the opportunities on offer through Team Peterborough. Having looked carefully at how much progress you are making and how the school is meeting your needs, the inspection team judged that your school requires 'special measures'. This means that your school needs to improve if it is to ensure that all students do well and feel safe. We

you to attain better standards. Your school provides you with a good curriculum with a broad choice of subjects in Key Stage 4 as well as a course in Enterprise and Employability in Year 9. It is led and managed well, and the governing body takes an exceptionally keen interest in your achievement and well-being. With the leaders of the school, they are looking to improve them still further. We have asked your school to raise attainment by ensuring that: you make consistently good or better progress in lessons through good teaching and learning teaching meets the needs of all of you, taking into account the excellent information provided to staff on your progress assessment in lessons is varied and focuses on continuous improvement marking in all subjects gives you clear guidance on what you need to do to improve. 26 November 2008 Dear Pupils Inspection of Southfields Junior School, Peterborough, PE2 8PU I enjoyed my recent visit to your school very much. Thank you for making me so welcome. I also thank those of you who had lunch with me and gave up part of your lunch time to tell me your thoughts about everything that you do and learn. During the day, I was able to see the many ways in which you are involved in your school. The jobs you do and the skills that you learn help to prepare you for secondary school extremely well. You are showing your good understanding of the need to have healthy lifestyles by keeping fit and safe and eating healthily. I send my congratulations to the choir for their tremendous achievement in reaching the final of the 'Songs of Praise' competition. Very well done! We found that yours is a satisfactory school, and with some important good features. It is a school which has improved a great deal since the last time it was inspected because of the good work of those who lead the school. We were pleased by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere when we arrived. Everyone at school takes good care of you and helps to keep you safe. You learn about interesting topics and say you enjoy learning. This, together with your good behaviour, is contributing to your satisfactory but improving achievement. Your teachers are keen for you to make faster progress so we have asked them to do several things. We have asked them to make sure that:

You behaviour is excellent and we were also very pleased to see how thoughtful and caring you were about the dreadful effects of the tsunami on the lives of the Japanese people. You told us a lot about your school which helped me to write this report. Yours is a good school. All staff provide excellent care and support for you. You have good opportunities to learn different things and the school is planning to develop more ways to make learning more fun. You always try to stay healthy and safe in school.
