two houses are being refurbished as part of an ongoing, rolling renovation programme. The houses each have their own garden and are set in extensive, well- kept grounds where children have the opportunity to play together and form friendships in a well-supervised setting. Children enjoy the many opportunities to have fun, both on-site and in the community. They benefit from a wide range of available activities which they engage in according to their individual preferences and needs. These range, for example, from trips to the Liverpool philharmonic orchestra to rock concerts, football matches, the gym, go-karting and short holidays, all of which are chosen and enjoyed by children. Some children are members of local sports teams and benefit enormously from the camaraderie and discipline of team work. One child explained, ‘It’s good. They look after me.
