n The childminder is in breach of several requirements under the Statutory framework of the early years foundation stage (EYFS). The childminder lacks a clear understanding of child protection procedures. For example, he does know the correct procedures to follow if an allegation is made against him or a household member. In addition, the childminder has a limited understanding of the changes and events that Ofsted need to be informed. These weaknesses compromise children's safety. n The childminder lacks an understanding of the EYFS requirement to administer medication to children. In addition, he has an inaccurate understanding of the number of children that he can care for at any given time. understanding of how to identify and support children who may have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). These breaches mean that the childminder may not be able to meet all children's needs and support their attitudes to learning. n The childminder does not have an in-depth understanding of the way young children learn. He is not clear about how to plan learning experiences which are relevant to children's ages and stages of development. The childminder's understanding of assessment, including the progress check at age two is weak. As such, he may be not able to identify and address any gaps in children's development and learning swiftly. n The childminder recognises the importance of providing healthy snacks and opportunities for daily outdoor play to help support children's physical well- being.

This provision does not meet requirements
There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
