Information about this inspection
the care of children the safety of children the effectiveness of leaders and managers. The inspector has looked closely at the experiences and progress of children, using the social care common inspection framework. This assurance inspection was carried out under The Care Standards Act 2000 to assess the effectiveness of the service, how it meets the core functions of the service as set out in legislation, and to consider how well it complies with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the ‘Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations, including the quality standards’. p.1
Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns in relation to the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
There have not been any children living in this home since August 2023. There are currently no staff in place so children would not be able to move in. The requirements and recommendations raised at the full inspection in November 2023 have not been reviewed. This is because there is no evidence to say that they have been met.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
One further recommendation has been raised during this visit. This is because there is no development plan in place for the home. This means that there is nothing in place to indicate what actions are needed to effectively develop that home. This does not help the home move forward in achieving the provider’s aims and objectives.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Maintenance work has been left and not repaired in a timely manner and the decoration is tired in parts of the home. In one of the children’s bedrooms there are marks on the walls caused by damage. The previous staff office is now a child’s bedroom. In this room there is no mattress on the bed frame, and office furniture remains in there. Furthermore, there is a large unsightly brown patch on the bathroom ceiling. These maintenance issues make the home look uncared for and does not provide homely environment for children to live in.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
All requirements raised at the last inspection have been restated.
