This provision does not meet requirements
n The childminder does not sufficiently evaluate her practice to ensure that she consistently meets the statutory requirements of the early years foundation stage. She has failed to maintain a valid paediatric first-aid certificate and evidence of valid public liability insurance was not available at the inspection. n As required, the childminder provided information about an adult found to be living in the household at the time of the last inspection. Ofsted has completed the suitability checking process on this person. Since the inspection, the childminder notified Ofsted of other new household members. However, she has not followed this notification with the required information, so that Ofsted could commence the suitability checking process. Therefore, Ofsted has been unable to determine the suitability of this household member aged over 16 years. The childminder understands the requirement to notify Ofsted of any further changes

to household members. n The childminder has made some improvements since the last inspection. She has completed training which has improved her knowledge of some aspects of safeguarding. For example, she has access to information on how to identify signs and symptoms of abuse and how to report any child protection concerns. She keeps information on how to contact other agencies readily available. She has suitable ways to assess and minimise any risks to children, indoors and outdoors. However, she lacks awareness of the government's statutory guidance 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' and the 'Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales'. This lessens her ability to safeguard children and protect them from developing extreme views and being radicalised. n The childminder continues to demonstrate a poor understanding of the learning and development requirements of the early years foundation stage. Her

knowledge of the areas of learning is insufficient to be able to assess children's development. This limits her ability to plan and provide a curriculum, which is sequenced to build on what children know and can do. n The childminder demonstrates a poor understanding of suitable ways to manage children's behaviour. She refers to positive reinforcement, such as praise, and understands that corporal punishment cannot be used. However, her strategies also include threatening the use of 'time out' and a naughty corner. These strategies do not support children's emotional well-being or support them to understand why their behaviour is not acceptable. n The childminder understands the benefits of working closely with parents and other professionals involved with children. However, weaknesses in assessment limit the quality of information available to share with parents. The childminder lacks an understanding of the required progress check for children between the

This provision does not meet requirements
20 October 2023 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
