about children in her care. She does not know about her duty to inform the local authority designated officer of allegations made against any adult living or working in the setting. n The childminder has a poor understanding of how children learn and develop. She does not demonstrate an understanding of how to tailor children's learning and care to meet their individual needs, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The childminder does not understand the importance of creating strong partnerships with parents. This includes gathering important information about children's starting points and their interests from parents when children first start. The childminder is unaware of the requirement to complete progress checks for children aged between two and three years of age. She, therefore, does not have knowledge of how to use assessment as a tool to identify any areas of a child's development that may need extra support.

This provision does not meet requirements
n The childminder does not understand enough about children's emotional development and how effective settling-in procedures help children to separate from their parents. She has limited knowledge of how to develop secure bonds with children to promote their emotional well-being and independence. n The childminder does not fully recognise the importance of children's communication and language development. She does not have a sufficient range of books for children to enjoy and help widen their vocabulary. However, the childminder does know some ways in which she would support children who speak English as an additional language by using words from their home language to support their understanding.
p.2
This provision does not meet requirements
13 June 2023 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
