This provides staff with clear actions to follow to help keep the child safe. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC480850 2 The staff have now completed training around restorative practice. This helps them to understand the significance of their relationships with the child, and use these to provide care and support that meets the child’s needs. As a result, the child’s day-to- day experiences have improved. With regard to the benefits of this training, one member of staff said, ‘We now reflect and think out of the box. We have really changed the way we work. Using relationships with children is so much better.’
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the assurance visit, the registered manager has deactivated the bedroom door alarms that were used in the home. The child now has unrestricted movement around the home and no internal doors are locked unnecessarily. This creates a welcoming and homely environment for the child to live in.
