This provision is good
n Children have secure relationships with the childminder. They are happy and settled in her care. n The childminder has a clear understanding of children's individual learning needs and interests. She plans a good range of activities and outings that help children make good progress in their learning and development. n Children gain first-hand experiences of nature while regularly watering the strawberry plants and watching them grow. They also pick some with the childminder and enjoy eating them for their lunch. n The childminder works closely with parents to ensure a consistent approach in supporting children's personal independence, such as toilet training. As a result, children quickly develop the skills they need. n Children are supported well in developing their mathematical skills. For example, they enjoy counting the strawberries they have picked and recognise the numbers on the hopscotch mat as they jump on them. They play games with the childminder where

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has successfully met all actions raised at the last inspection. She has developed her understanding of safeguarding issues and knows how to identify and report any concerns about children's welfare. Good information- sharing with parents ensures the childminder knows about children's learning at home, and any changes in their lives, so that she can offer support when needed. The childminder has attended a training course to strengthen her understanding of children's learning and development. Consequently, the quality of teaching has improved. The childminder makes the best use of time that children attend, and plans challenging activities and outings that extend their learning effectively.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children are becoming independent learners as they follow their own interests during play and choose toys they want to play with. They engage in well-planned activities that are challenging and extend their learning effectively. For example, when using the moulding sand set, the childminder demonstrates how to use the small buckets and moulds to make shapes. Children enjoy the praise given by the childminder for their efforts and achievements as they build their own structures. The childminder further extends their learning by introducing new words and talking about the seaside. She then reads the story about the seaside to help consolidate children's learning. Children go on regular outings to local children's groups, the library and parks. This enables them to develop their social skills and build relationships with other children in the community. Children's language skills are enhanced through lots of singing and stories. The

childminder engages them in meaningful conversations and asks questions that make them think.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are well behaved and show a clear understanding of expectations of their behaviour. For instance, they respond well to the daily routines, and help tidy away toys after use. Children are developing healthy eating habits. They talk to the childminder about their favourite foods and choose the foods they like to eat at mealtimes. Children gain regular exercise and develop their physical skills during indoor and outside play.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress from their starting points in all areas of learning. The childminder shares information with parents about children's learning and development, including the progress check at age two. Children are keen and interested to learn. They are developing the skills they need for their future learning and eventual move on to school.
