Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good, secure knowledge about how to protect children from harm, and the procedures to follow if she has any concerns regarding a child's welfare. The childminder thoroughly risk assesses her home, and teaches children how to keep themselves safe. She has strong partnerships with parents and effectively communicates information regarding children's learning and care. For instance, she discusses children's next steps and provides parents with ideas about how they can support their child's learning at home. She regularly reviews the provision and reflects on her practice to identify areas for further improvement.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder plans a good range of purposeful learning activities based on children's interests and levels of development. She provides an interesting range of activities and supports older children to tackle new challenges. For instance, she encourages them to practise pedalling the bicycle around the garden. The childminder supports younger children's early writing skills as they make meaningful marks to decorate the mask they make. The childminder supports children's home language throughout her teaching. For example, children count how many times they swing backwards and forwards, in both English and Spanish. The children develop their physical skills as they enjoy working together to throw the ball into the basketball net.

She is positive, respectful and encouraging. Children are settled and confident, and display a positive approach to learning. Children enjoy nutritious snacks and meals, which endorse their healthy eating practices. The childminder takes children on regular outings to playgroups. Children benefit greatly from opportunities to socialise as part of a larger group and with children of different ages.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children progress well in relation to their starting points, including those who speak English as an additional language. They are motivated to learn.
