Children have good opportunities to learn about the wider world. n Children learn about cultural festivals and celebrations, such as Chinese New Year, Easter, Hanukkah and Diwali. They develop an awareness of similarities and differences between themselves and others. n Although supervisions are in place, the childminder does not rigorously assess her assistants' practice and set highly focused targets to help improve teaching further. n The childminder and her assistant do not consistently use their knowledge of what children need to learn next to plan challenging experiences that help to accelerate children's learning even more. n The childminder does not consistently share information with other settings that children attend to provide continuity in their learning and development.
