This provision is good
Since the last inspection, the childminder has worked hard to evaluate her practice and made significant changes to how she works to benefit the children in her care. Partnerships with parents are successful and help the childminder to meet children's learning and welfare needs effectively. For example, the childminder places importance on the contribution that parents make to their children's learning. Together, they ensure they complement children's progress and development well. The childminder keeps her home safe and the children move around with confidence. Children make their own choices of activities and where they would like to play. Children are secure and safe. The childminder skilfully supports children's good language development. For example, she asks questions to help children use their developing language. Children remembered their visit to the park where they fed ducks and drank hot chocolate.

This provision is good
Children make good progress from their starting points.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not make consistently good use of opportunities to enhance children's understanding of mathematics. Occasionally, the childminder does not organise and plan activities as effectively as possible to support each child's learning and progress even better.

Inspection activities
The inspector discussed how the childminder has met the actions set at the last inspection. The inspector looked at the rooms and resources children use. The inspector looked at documentation, and discussed the systems the childminder uses to observe and record children's progress. The inspector discussed how the childminder evaluates her service and her priorities for improvement. The inspector observed children's play and their conversations with the childminder in the indoor environment.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has successfully addressed the areas for improvement identified at the previous inspection. For example, she has completed a paediatric first-aid training course to help her manage children's minor accidents appropriately. The childminder evaluates her work well and makes changes to help children to have fun and make progress as they learn. She has developed partnerships with the local authority and completes suitable training to ensure that she and her assistant are up to date with their childcare knowledge, which benefits the children in their care. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good understanding of her responsibility to protect children and keep them safe. She knows how to recognise symptoms that may alert her to any welfare concerns. The childminder knows the children well and plans activities to suit their learning needs. Her good teaching skills and assessments help her to recognise and close

any gaps in learning, so children can quickly catch up.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder makes learning enjoyable and encourages children to enjoy their learning. She uses children's interests to plan for their development. For example, children delve into a box full of items. They find eggs and cups and carefully lift the eggs into the cups, developing their hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity skills for later life. Children enjoy painting. The assistant enhances this activity, asking the children to tell her about the colours they are using and the patterns they are making. Children listen well and understand how to make choices. For example, they tell the childminder the songs to which they want to listen. Children are delighted to hear their favourite music and use their bodies to move to the rhythm.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children form secure attachments to the childminder and her assistant, calling their names as they play. The childminder notices the changing needs of the children and offers kind support to any child who is feeling tired. Children hold their arms out for cuddles and the childminder responds quickly to ensure they feel secure and content. The childminder helps children to learn how to keep themselves safe. For example, she supports them to understand how to walk indoors. The childminder offers high levels of praise, helping children to develop a sense of achievement and self-worth. For example, she praises them when they help to tidy up and help to care for their environment.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress from their starting points and develop useful skills for their future learning and move to school. Children are growing in independence. They learn the importance of good personal hygiene, for example, they wash their hands before they eat. Children are developing good social skills and learn how to take turns.
