Inspection date

Previous inspection date 11 January 2018 19 August 2016

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder has not addressed all actions from her last inspection. Her practice remains poor. She does not risk assess her home or minimise hazards to children, such as radiators, non-working smoke detectors and clutter.  The childminder does not have an awareness of the Prevent duty guidance or have an understanding of the most up-to-date Statutory Framework for the early years foundation stage to maintain children’s safety and welfare.  The childminder has a poor understanding of the training requirements for an assistant. For example, the assistant does not hold a valid paediatric first-aid certificate. When left in sole charge of children, this puts their welfare at risk.  The childminder does not have a good enough range of toys and resources and does not have a secure knowledge of how to observe and assess development. She does not know how to plan to help children make progress for school. Any progress or learning

the children make cannot be attributed to the childminder.  The childminder has positive relationships with parents to meet children’s care needs.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
