learning or to identify any gaps, in order to ensure they make good progress. The childminder is qualified, however, she has not updated her knowledge of the learning and development requirements sufficiently. She does not fully understand how to support children's development through all areas of learning. The childminder does not reflect well enough on her provision to ensure she meets all of the statutory requirements. The childminder recognises the importance of working with parents to help support children's individual needs consistently. The childminder understands the importance of providing children with healthy foods and promotes the use of exercise to help provide for a healthy lifestyle.

The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.

Inspection activities
We carried out this inspection as a result of a risk assessment, following information we received about the provider. The inspector viewed the areas of the home available for childminding and discussed the toys, resources and equipment available for children's use. The inspector talked with the childminder about how she plans to keep children safe and healthy, and how she plans activities for children. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of the childminder and the suitability of other adults living in the premises. The inspector spoke to the childminder about how she evaluates her service and makes improvements. She looked at a range of documentation, including some policies and procedures.
