This provision is good
The childminder is caring and attentive to children's individual needs. Children form secure emotional attachments to her, are happy and settle well. Partnerships with parents are strong. The childminder regularly shares information with parents about children's progress and care routines. Parents' feedback shows that they are happy with the care that their children receive. Observations and assessments are effective. The childminder has a good knowledge of each child's stage of development and monitors their ongoing progress. She plans a range of activities that challenges children's learning. Children make good progress. Children benefit from exploring the local community. For instance, they visit the local playgroups, messy-play sessions and library. The childminder teaches well and uses successful ways to extend early language development. For example, with younger children, she speaks clearly, repeating the

It is not yet outstanding because:
Overall, children are well behaved. However, at times, the childminder does not recognise opportunities to help them understand why some behaviour is unwanted. At times, children do not become fully involved during group activities and are distracted by the background noise of the television.

Inspection activities
The inspector spoke to the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector engaged with the children during the inspection. The inspector observed the children during their indoor and outdoor play activities, as well as their snack routine. The inspector sampled various documents, including children's learning records, the childminder's self-evaluation, risk assessments and a selection of policies and procedures.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has attended safeguarding training. She has a good understanding of how to keep children safe and the procedures to follow should she have a concern about a child's well-being. The childminder implements policies and procedures effectively, including for first aid, risk assessments and obtaining permission for assistants to be left in charge. The childminder carries out checks to ensure her assistants are suitable to work with children. She provides her assistants with good support to ensure they have a good understanding of their role. For example, she carries out a thorough induction and provides regular supervisory meetings for her assistants to support their continued development. The childminder regularly reflects on her practice and sets clear priorities for improvement. She takes into account the views of parents, for instance, through questionnaires and feedback, and considers children's needs and

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children benefit from a wide range of resources and experiences to support them in all areas of learning. For example, young children delight in singing sessions that help to develop their physical skills as they explore different instruments and copy the childminder's actions. The childminder knows the children well and provides activities that interest them. For example, she plays alongside young children as they explore the toy food. As they move it around on the plates, she describes what food they have, helping to develop their language skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children settle well and share a warm trusting relationship with the childminder. The childminder acts as a positive role model. She gives lots of praise and encouragement during activities, and helps children to develop their self-esteem and confidence. Children develop a good understanding of similarities and differences between themselves and others to support their awareness of diversity. The childminder helps children to develop an awareness of safety and successfully fosters their sense of responsibility. For example, all children are encouraged to help tidy away toys when they have finished with them and understand the need to wash their hands before mealtimes.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress and develop the key skills they need for school and future life. They are motivated to explore and have an interest in stories. For example, older children spontaneously get books and look through them together, and younger children enjoy stories being read to them. Children are confident, sociable and become increasingly independent. For example, younger children are keen to feed themselves and older children help put their own shoes on before going outside.
