This provision is good
The childminder has made significant improvements since her previous inspection. She ensures that Ofsted is aware of all those living on the premises age 16 years and over and completes the relevant suitability checks. This helps to keep children safe from any adults whose suitability has not been cleared. Children make good progress and are ready for their next stage in learning. The childminder uses the information from her observations and assessments well to plan for children's development needs and interests. The childminder forms successful partnerships with other settings children attend, which aids continuity of learning and care. The childminder completes thorough risk assessments of her environment. This helps children to play safely in their surroundings.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not consistently form highly successful parental partnerships to share a wide range of development information and help extend children's learning further. The childminder does not consistently provide children with opportunities to do things for themselves and encourage their independence fully.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on children's learning and development. The inspector viewed all the premises used for childminding. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector spoke to children. The inspector viewed a range of documentation, including suitability checks and children's records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder knows the signs that would cause her concern and the processes to follow. She is aware of the indicators that children are at risk of extreme ideas and views. The childminder monitors children's progress well. This helps her identify any gaps in development and provide the appropriate support. The childminder successfully evaluates her practice, such as using the views of other professionals. She improves her knowledge and skills. For example, she reads relevant childcare literature and online resources for new ideas of different activities to plan. This helps her develop the quality of the provision and provide good outcomes for children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder supports children's learning and development successfully. She builds their communication and language skills well. For example, she repeats back younger children's early words to develop their speech, such as 'helicopter'. Also, she talks to older children about their wider experiences, for instance, if they have been on a steam train. The childminder asks children questions that encourage them to think for themselves and adapts these to the age of the child, which helps extend their progress. She gives them choices, such as if they would like her to read a book to them or if they would like to read it themselves and tell her all about it. This helps children learn that their views are of value and important. The childminder provides children with positive praise and encouragement, which helps their self-esteem and confidence.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder offers a stimulating and safe environment, in particular the outside space. For example, children freely move around the garden and make their own selections from the wide range of activities available to them. This helps to keep their motivation and interest in their learning. The childminder forms secure emotional attachments and positive relationships with children. For instance, they spontaneously sit on her knee and cuddle her. The childminder provides children with clear guidance and explanations to help them manage their own behaviour. For example, she encourages sharing and taking turns, and reminds them about acceptable actions.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make progress that is typical for their age. They build their physical development well. For example, younger children turn the pages of a book and start to write using the same hand. Children successfully progress their listening and attention skills, such as when singing about wheels on a bus during their play. They form good relationships with their friends. For example, they sit together at lunchtime laughing and talking together.
