will make continued and sustainable improvements to her provision.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder, on occasion, does not give children enough time to respond to the questions she asks them. This does not fully support their communication and language skills.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and learning indoors and outdoors. The inspector spoke to parents and used written feedback to gain their views about the provision. The inspector reviewed a range of documentation, including the childminder's self- evaluation documents and children's learning records. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a good understanding of the procedures to follow if she is concerned about any aspect of a child's welfare. She is aware of the signs and symptoms to looks out for. The childminder's risk assessments are very thorough, and she uses these well to keep children safe. The childminder regularly attends training and uses this to improve her practice. For example, her recent training in partnerships with parents has helped her to improve supporting parents with children's learning at home. The childminder provides effective support to her assistant to update his knowledge of safeguarding arrangements and any changes in practice. For example, they discuss relevant childcare topics following reading or research.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children thoroughly enjoy the learning experiences and activities the childminder plans. For example, children speak with enthusiasm about collecting tadpoles and watching them develop into frogs. The childminder follows children's interests and takes into account what they already know and can do. She tracks children's progress effectively and identifies any gaps in their learning. The childminder develops an effective plan to support their future progress and extend their learning. She challenges children successfully and they are keen and motivated to learn. Children show high levels of concentration during activities.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder knows children exceptionally well and provides a welcoming and very safe environment. Children demonstrate good behaviour, including manners. They politely ask to leave the table when they finish eating. Children develop high levels of independence. For example, they peel and cut up their fruit at snack time and clear away their plates from the table. The childminder promotes children's awareness of healthy lifestyles. For example, they follow appropriate hygiene routines prior to eating healthy nutritious food, and have lots of opportunities for physical activity and outdoor play. Children are happy to take responsibility for helping to tidy up, and they learn to cooperate and share in play.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Outdoor activities are well planned and organised to create a rich learning environment. For example, children develop their physical development while learning about colours by throwing coloured balls into the correct coloured hoop. They also build good social skills, for instance, as they learn to share and take turns. When the time comes, children are ready to move on to nursery or school.
