This provision is good
Children behave very well and staff are consistent in their approach to managing children's behaviour. They develop strong friendships and social skills. Older children are happy to support the younger ones, which helps to support their emotional well- being. Staff are considerate and thoughtful. They understand the children well and provide them with good levels of emotional security. Children enjoy their time in the club. For example, they happily share their views and say the club is enjoyable, they like the snacks and that it is the best club they go to. Staff work in strong partnership with the school. For example, they share plenty of information about children's ongoing interests and needs to maintain the good quality of care and enjoyable experiences. Children use their language skills and words in enjoyable ways. Staff listen to the children and encourage them to share their ideas and thoughts.

This provision is good
Staff are positive and caring, and build strong bonds with all children.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Overall, staff do not seek the views and suggestions from parents and children, in order to build on good self-evaluation and help to plan future improvements. Occasionally, staff do not check that resources are presented in the most inviting way to encourage children to participate in the widest range of activities.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of interactions during activities indoors and outdoors. She assessed the impact this has on children's well-being. The inspector spoke with staff and children during the inspection. The inspector completed a joint observation with the club manager. The inspector held a meeting with the manager. She looked at relevant documentation and evidence of the suitability of staff working in the club. The inspector spoke to parents during the inspection and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff have a secure understanding of their responsibilities to protect children. They all attend training and are familiar with procedures to report any concerns regarding children's welfare. Children are supervised effectively in a safe and secure environment. For example, staff carry out daily safety checks of the premises and resources. The manager has a clear understanding of safe recruitment and induction to ensure all staff are suitable to work with children. The manager plans regular meetings to support staff practice and offers appropriate training opportunities to assist them to maintain and develop their skills. Supervision meetings provide further opportunities for staff to discuss their roles and professional development. Parents report that they are happy with the quality of care their children receive.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children arrive happily at the club and settle quickly. They show a good understanding of the routine as some get ready for snack. Other children engage in the activities on offer. Staff interact well with the children and support them in their chosen play. Children develop the skills they need to help support them at school. They play well together, enjoy card games and build various constructions. They discuss their plans and designs with each other. Children particularly delight in their imaginary play. They eagerly help to build dens using sheets and act out their favourite superhero character with their friends. They demonstrate a good ability to concentrate and engage for sustained periods of time.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Staff place a strong focus on promoting a child-centred approach. Children are well supported when they first start at the setting. Staff gather information about children and take time to speak to parents to discuss children's needs. The staff work well together to meet the individual needs of the children. Staff are good role models. They speak to the children and each other with respect. Children have good opportunities to learn about turn taking, for example, they play board games and wait patiently for their turn. Children have good opportunities to relax after their school day. For instance, they use the soft furniture and blankets to sit comfortably and look at books. Nutritious food and healthy snacks are tailored to meet children's needs and preferences. This helps to support children's good knowledge of the importance of learning a healthy lifestyle. There are further opportunities for physical play and activities in the school grounds.
