This provision is good
Children are happy and confident within this welcoming environment. They form strong attachments with staff, which meets their emotional needs and promotes their well- being. Their behaviour is excellent, with older children demonstrating respect and tolerance of younger children as they play harmoniously together. Safeguarding of children is good because staff know the procedures to follow and a policy is in place, which underpins practice. This is reviewed and updated regularly. Safety is maintained because the premises are secure and staff are vigilant regarding access to the setting. Children's learning is complemented well, through the close relationship the club has with the host school. The quality of teaching is good because staff provide a wide range of stimulating and challenging activities and effectively support children to make good progress in all areas of their learning and development.

build further on the good support given to children's learning, for example, by extending opportunities for staff to observe and evaluate each other's practice, to enable them to benefit from each other's skills and identify any areas for development.

Inspection activities
The inspector held a meeting with the manager of the club. The inspector observed play and learning activities in the indoor and outdoor areas and spoke to staff and children during the inspection. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff working with the children, the provider's self-evaluation and improvement plan. The inspector took into account the views of parents spoken to on the day. The inspector looked at a selection of children's records and information and spoke to their individual key persons. The inspector conducted a joint observation with the manager.

who attend. This is good
Children are confident and happy. They make good use of the environment as they explore and make choices about what they want to do. Children develop their physical skills as they actively chase bubbles or vigorously ride scooters outdoors. They chat comfortably with each other, building models together in the shade on a hot day. The youngest children welcome visitors to the holiday club. They remind them that tidy-up time is an activity for everyone, including the adults. Children's independence is skilfully managed by staff who give them age-related responsibilities and levels of trust. Staff allow children time to consider and respond to questions. This motivates children's thinking and promotes their communication and language skills. Children respond well to this and show they are active and motivated learners. All children relish these fun learning opportunities and, consequently, make good progress in all areas of learning and development.
p.3
good
Staff have warm relationships with the children. Children's personal, social and emotional development is well promoted. Children benefit from a welcoming, well-organised and clean environment. The caring and nurturing staff ensure all children feel valued, safe and secure. Children develop positive relationships with staff and are happy, confident and motivated in their environment. Children's self-esteem is extremely high because staff continually praise their efforts and achievements and involve them in conversation to ensure they are fully engaged and listened to at all times. Children are learning to live healthily and their daily routine ensures there is plenty of fresh air and exercise. Staff help children to develop independence skills. For example, children wash their hands before meals, and tidy away after activities. The setting works well with the host school that children attend, exchanging accurate and relevant information from the outset of care.

good
This further supports children in moving on to the next stage of their learning.
p.3
provision is good
Management have a very good understanding of their responsibilities and there is a range of policies and procedures to support children's health, safety and well-being. Children are safeguarded well. Staff have a clear understanding of child protection and the procedures to follow if they have concerns about a child in their care. Recruitment procedures are robust. All staff are thoroughly checked before being employed. A commitment to ongoing training ensures staff can continue to meet statutory obligations and develop skills, which support the work of the setting. Supervision and appraisals are effectively used to assess staff skills and to identify any areas for improvement. However, the system to support staff in sharing good practice, for example, by observing and discussing their work with each other, have not been fully explored. Staff have strong relationships with parents and they are encouraged to share information about their children to ensure continuity of care.
