This provision is good
The highly qualified manager and staff team have worked extremely hard to improve the quality of the nursery since the last inspection. They have successfully addressed the actions raised and enhanced many other aspects of their practice. Staff provide children with a wide range of exciting and challenging activities, which helps them to develop into enthusiastic and motivated learners. Children make good progress. Children establish a strong bond with their key person. Care practices are extremely successful in promoting children's good health and well-being. Self-evaluation systems are thorough and take into account the views of staff, children and parents. Strengths and weaknesses are effectively identified and addressed and plans for improvement are well targeted and achievable.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The manager has recently introduced opportunities for staff to reflect on their practice and share their ideas with each other. However, the process is still in its infancy and not yet fully embedded in practice. Staff do not provide enough opportunities to help children to further extend their learning about the similarities and differences between people and communities.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke to staff and children throughout the inspection. The inspector completed two joint observations with the nursery manager. The inspector held a meeting with the nursery manager. She looked at relevant documentation, such as a sample of policies and procedures, children's learning records and evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff working in the nursery. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day of the inspection and from written feedback on questionnaires obtained by the manager.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. Staff have a secure knowledge and understanding of the signs and symptoms of abuse and the procedures to follow in the event of a child protection concern. Rigorous risk assessments are completed to help to ensure that children are kept safe from harm. The deployment of staff is well organised so that children are consistently supervised and the adult-to-child ratio requirements are consistently met. Parents receive a wealth of information about the nursery, their children's care and how they can help to support children's learning at home. Staff obtain detailed information about each child to help to ensure their needs are met at all times. They create a culture of respect and tolerance within the nursery, where all children and families are warmly welcomed. The manager observes staff practice and carries out regular supervision meetings to manage their performance. Targeted training focuses on improving learning outcomes for children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children thrive and thoroughly enjoy their time at this good quality nursery. Staff are full of fun and enthusiasm and the atmosphere is filled with laughter as staff and children play and learn together. Babies squeal with excitement when they explore the wide range of materials in treasure baskets. Toddlers enjoy small-group activities with their key person. They eagerly participate in a language activity, which involves pretending to wake up a cuddly toy. Pre-school children have a wonderful time when they explore and investigate melted marshmallows. They learn and use new words, such as sticky, stretch, long, more, and less and explain that, 'It looks like chewing gum'. This helps children to develop good communication skills and promote their understanding of mathematical concepts. Highly effective information sharing with parents and external professionals helps to ensure that children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities and children who speak
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
English as an additional language are extremely well supported.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are very happy and well settled in the nursery. They demonstrate high levels of independence as they manage their own personal care needs in readiness for school. Staff make good use of the outdoor area and encourage all children to participate in active, enjoyable exercise. Staff play alongside children to teach them how to share and take turns. This helps children to develop a good understanding of acceptable behaviour. Staff provide children with opportunities to manage their own risks in a safe, controlled environment. Children climb steps and balance along planks outside with great confidence and skill. They are aware of their own capabilities and ask staff to help them if they need it.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, children who speak English as an additional language and funded children make good progress based on their individual starting points. Children develop a wide range of skills that helps to give them a firm foundation for future learning and the eventual move to school. They consistently demonstrate they are active and keen learners.
