This provision is good
The childminder has worked hard to make changes since the last inspection. She has ensured that every person living on the premises has their suitability checked. This includes obtaining an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This helps make safeguarding arrangements effective. The childminder uses information from parents effectively to provide activities that help children make good progress in their learning. The childminder teaches children's early literacy and mathematical skills well. For example, she uses words, such as patterns and describes the shapes children make when they are printing with paint. This helps prepare children for their next stages of learning. Children are happy and contented and settle quickly in the warm and inviting environment. The childminder provides a caring atmosphere and children feel safe and secure. The childminder keeps accurate records and has comprehensive policies and

It is not yet outstanding because:
Activities are, very occasionally, not adapted well enough to fully challenge and motivate children of mixed ages and abilities. The childminder, on occasion, does not give children the opportunity to develop their independence skills.

Inspection activities
The inspector undertook a tour of the premises used for childminding. The inspector observed activities and the quality of teaching. The inspector sampled children's assessment records, planning documentation and a range of other records, policies and procedures. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of the adults in the home and the childminder's self-evaluation and improvement plans.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder evaluates her provision and includes the views of parents. She acts swiftly on suggested improvements. The childminder now shares information about children's development in a timely manner. The childminder takes responsibility for her professional development. She ensures her knowledge of how children learn is current by completing online training on a regular basis. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a secure knowledge of child protection procedures and how to record and report any concerns to the appropriate authorities. The childminder has organised the spaces she uses for childminding well. The play areas are tidy and equipment is stored in accessible and well-labelled units. This enables children to play and explore their surroundings safely.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The well-qualified childminder knows children well and assessments of their progress are accurate. She uses the information about what children can already do to effectively plan for their individual needs. She has enhanced the learning environment for children who speak English as an additional language. For example, she has asked parents to translate the labelling on the equipment storage. Labels are now in English, children's home language and in pictorial form. Children develop their small-muscle skills for early writing skills, for example, when making marks with writing implements. The childminder provides opportunities for children to understand the diverse world they live in. Children celebrate and learn about festivals of other cultures.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are eager to join in activities. Overall, they play and explore the surroundings and equipment freely. The childminder is effective in modelling respectful relationships and children are encouraged to share and take turns. Children's behaviour is good and the childminder intervenes skilfully when necessary. She provides a nurturing environment and new children settle quickly. The childminder provides healthy and nutritious snacks and drinks for the children. She introduces simple messages about why fruit and water are good for you. This helps children to begin to understand the impact of healthy eating on their bodies.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress from their starting points. This includes children who speak English as an additional language. Children play and explore with different textures and make marks in paint. They show good early writing skills, holding writing tools appropriately and making distinguishable marks. They are developing well socially and are encouraged to respect each other. Children are prepared well for their next stages of learning.
