The childminder has a strong desire for improvement. She regularly seeks feedback from children and parents. Consequently, children feel valued in the setting. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She uses detailed planning effectively to reflect children's interests. This ensures that children are motivated and keen to learn. The childminder implements effective strategies, in discussion with parents, to help children to be successful in their learning. Therefore, children acquire many skills, particularly in their communication and language development, to progress to the next stage of learning. The childminder is exploring ways to sharpen their mathematical language and problem-solving skills further. The childminder successfully identifies children's next steps and completes detailed progress checks for two-year-old children, which she shares with parents and other professionals, where appropriate. The childminder actively encourages children to become highly independent learners and prepares them extremely well for school.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

She encourages older children to be independent in their routines; this helps to keep them healthy and safe. The childminder implements clear and consistent boundaries, which ensures excellent behaviour. Therefore, children learn to respect each other and negotiate.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

All children, especially babies, are highly motivated to learn and explore. Therefore, children make excellent progress towards their next steps in learning.
