p.1
This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The childminder has not informed Ofsted of changes to household members or ensured that her first-aid qualification is valid. Therefore, she does not have the required training in order to respond to minor accidents children may sustain while in her care. This does not assure children's safety. The childminder does not effectively use self-evaluation to reflect on or evaluate her practice. Therefore, she is not demonstrating the capacity to continually improve. As a result, there are gaps in her knowledge of meeting some of the requirement of the Early Years Foundation Stage fully. The quality of teaching is variable. The childminder does not effectively support children's communication and language development. The childminder does not provide children with a wide range of resources to enable to extend their play and learning.
p.1
It has the following strengths
Children are content in the childminder's care and enjoy the close relationships that they have established with her, which contributes towards their self-esteem and confidence. The childminder appropriately risk assesses her home and she has a sound understanding of child protection procedures. The childminder promotes children's physical well-being by providing them with opportunities to engage in physical play activities.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the interactions between the childminder and children as they engaged in activities. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector sampled a range of the childminder's documentation, including children's records and some written policies and procedures. The inspector and the childminder jointly observed children at play. The childminder gained parents feedback from a sample of children's records.

who attend. This requires improvement
The childminder demonstrates that she has some understanding of the learning and development requirements, which shegenerallyimplements appropriately. She monitors children's progress through observations and assessments and she provides a basic range of resources for children to enjoy. However, the range is limited and sometimes restricts children's ability to take their playfurther. Children are developing some key skills to support theirfuturelearning. They demonstrate their independence skills astheyassist their own personal needs, help themselves to resources and develop their confidence in social situations. However, the childminder does not consistently promote children's communication skills. Her questions do not challenge or encourage children's thinking skills or language development and she does not always give children time to respond to her questions. Therefore, children are not fully helped to be ready for school.
p.4
requires improvement
Children benefit from the suitable partnerships between the childminder and parents, which positively contributes towards their care needs being met. The childminder promotes children's physical health. She provides regular opportunities for children to play outside in the fresh air through visits to the park and she provides healthy snacks and regular drinks. Children behave well. They learn how to keep themselves safe through the gentle reminders they receive. Children learn what to do in the event of an emergency as the childminder teaches them emergency evacuation procedures. However, the childminders' first-aid qualification has expired. This means she is not suitably qualified to deal with minor accidents and injuries. As a result, children's safety and well-being is not fully assured. However, the childminder has already taken steps to address this as she is now booked on a relevant first-aid course.
p.4
provision requires improvement
The childminder has not met all the legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the associated Childcare Register. This potentially compromises children's safety as Ofsted have been unable to complete the required suitability checks. The childminder has also not ensured that she has a valid first-aid qualification. She does not evaluate or reflect on her practice effectively to identify specific training needs. Therefore, she is unable to effectively drive improvement and outcomes for children. The childminder has links with other professionals, which means that she can seek advice or support when required.
