The children's home provision is good because:

 The children and young people are kept very safe during their short breaks at this home. Children and young people are safely supervised throughout their stays, and there are good levels of staffing available at all times. No children or young people have gone missing, there is no bullying and there have been no concerning safeguarding incidents at the home.  Many of the children and young people have complex health needs. Staff understand these well. The healthcare offered by the staff team during the short breaks is good. There are good procedures in place for administration of medication and for other personal care when required.  The children and young people visiting the home are able to use all the facilities that are available in the adjacent centre run by the charity. These facilities are excellent and include a variety of very well-equipped sensory rooms, an impressive hydrotherapy pool, excellent outdoor play and sensory

Overall experiences and progress of children and young people: good

The home is situated in a larger centre where there is an exceptionally good activity centre. The centre contains a large hydrotherapy pool which is built to very high standards. Also, there is a complex of sensory rooms which are very well equipped and an outside garden containing accessible play equipment, grass lawns and various outdoor exploration areas. The activity centre also has dedicated staff who organise a wide range of activities, visiting attractions and trips out. The activity centre is open to the public during the day and the children and young people at the home have shared access during this time, but have exclusive access during the evenings. Undoubtedly the children and young people attending for short breaks benefit from and enjoy these excellent resources, which are easily accessed.
