Ofsted survey inspection programme – 14-19 reforms
Hartlepool College of Further Education offers a wide range of learning opportunities, with good progression routes. A particularly strong emphasis is placed on inclusion and the development of learning to meet the needs of the local labour market. The college works effectively with local schools and other providers to develop a comprehensive 14-19 curriculum. Common timetabling is currently being developed with two local schools, but is not yet fully embedded across the area. Learning support is very effective in helping learners to achieve and make good progress. The college is highly inclusive. Individual learning programmes are well developed and used effectively to support those learners most at risk of not continuing in education, employment or training. Partnership working is strong and the college is highly committed to the 14-19 agenda. Close working with all 14-19 providers and the Connexions service is providing many learners with satisfactory information, advice
