The visit provided valuable information which will contribute to our national evaluation and reporting. This report, which will be produced in the summer of 2008, will highlight good practice and identify improvements to be made. Published reports are likely to list the names of the contributing institutions, but individual institutions will not be identified in the main text.

North Warwickshire and Hinckley College is very effective in raising achievement, participation and retention in the area. The college’s curriculum is exceptionally broad and inclusive. The students with whom I spoke valued the quality of their learning experience at the college very highly.

Collaboration, with the neighbouring sixth form college in particular, and with local schools, is extremely strong and well established. This provides an excellent foundation for the further development of 14-19 provision in the area. The college is playing a leading role in this development. It has a clear strategic direction and is both flexible and responsive to the needs of learners and its partner institutions in taking the 14-19 reforms forward.
