Leadership and governance Urgent improvement
The childminder has weak knowledge of child development and, as a result, she does not have a clear and ambitious curriculum in place. The childminder's knowledge and understanding of how children learn is limited. For example, she shows little understanding of how to sequence learning to build on children's physical skills. The childminder understands that assessments need to be completed. However, her lack of knowledge and understanding of how to accurately assess children's learning and development, and her lack of understanding of what children need to learn next, limits her ability to complete these effectively. The childminder does not have sufficient knowledge of how to support children who may have barriers to their learning. The childminder does not tailor her own professional development to ensure that she is keeping her knowledge of how to support children's individual needs up to date. She understands that she must put strategies into place,

however she has not implemented these. The childminder has limited understanding of how to manage and support children's behaviour. Therefore, she does not have appropriate expectations for children in place.

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
