p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Leaders strive to provide a high-quality provision where children can relax and enjoy time with their friends. They explain how they work with staff to monitor sessions and ensure that children receive these quality experiences. Leaders also speak to parents and carers, children and school staff to gather feedback to help them identify any areas of improvement.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Staff report that they have access to a range of training to support them in understanding the responsibilities of their role. Leaders discuss how they also provide coaching and mentoring. For example, staff spend time with senior leaders to understand strategies to enhance how children's behaviour can be managed and how to create inspiring activities. Staff also explain how they have ongoing supervision sessions with leaders, as an opportunity to discuss their role and pursue any further opportunities for professional development. Leaders discuss how this focus on increasing staff knowledge and standard of practice aims to continually raise the quality of care provided for children.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Leaders have effective arrangements in place to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They describe how they carefully consider how to support children who have other barriers to their learning, such as those who may be at a disadvantage. Leaders discuss how they gather information from parents when children first start so that staff can understand any adaptations they might need to make during the out-of-school club. They describe how staff also collaborate with teachers at the school to implement any strategies and understand plans that are in place for children in the classroom. Leaders report through this, children benefit from a shared approach to their care.

p.2

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Leaders have robust policies in place that ensure the welfare of all children. For example, they have a clear attendance policy that they regularly review. Leaders explain this makes parents aware of the procedure they must follow if their children are absent from their booked session at the out-of-school club.

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation.
