What this report says

In plain English

very critical

Ofsted suspended the childminder's registration after concerns; a welfare requirements notice now applies, and the childminder remains registered.

Ofsted received concerns about safeguarding, staffing ratios and learning and development, and suspended the registration on 13 October 2026 because children may be at risk of harm. A regulatory visit on 20 October 2026 found the childminder was not meeting some requirements, so a welfare requirements notice was served. The childminder must show how they will address staffing, outings, risks, safeguarding, health and behaviour. Ofsted will monitor this and the childminder is still registered.

To improve

  • Demonstrate how staffing arrangements will meet children's needs and keep them safe.
  • Demonstrate how risks and hazards on outings will be removed, minimised and managed.
  • Ensure staff follow safeguarding policies, with particular regard to mobile phone use.
  • Promote children's good health, including nose wiping and handwashing, and tailor care to individual needs.

What parents should know

  • Ask the childminder how they are meeting the welfare requirements notice and what changes have been made.
  • Ask how staffing ratios and supervision are arranged, especially on outings.
  • Ask about the childminder's mobile phone and safeguarding policy.

What other providers can learn

  • Check staffing ratios and supervision arrangements, including for outings, against the statutory framework.
  • Make sure safeguarding policies on mobile phone use are followed by all staff and assistants.
  • Review health routines such as handwashing and nose wiping, and how care meets each child's needs.

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the¿Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We suspended the provider's registration on 13 October 2026 because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 20 October 2026, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice.
