Deep dive

What this report says

In plain English

critical

The nursery was found not to meet some legal requirements, including failures to notify Ofsted and unsafe sleep arrangements, which the provider has since put right.

Ofsted made a regulatory visit and found the nursery was not meeting some requirements. The provider had previously failed to notify Ofsted of changes it must report, although a later notification was made. Safer sleeping arrangements did not meet current legal requirements, but the provider acted promptly to review the space and equipment. The nursery remains registered with Ofsted.

Going well

  • Safer recruitment procedures are implemented effectively to check staff suitability
  • Provider took prompt action to correct sleeping arrangements after the visit
  • Provider notified Ofsted about significant events and suitable people

To improve

  • Notify Ofsted of changes the provider is required to report
  • Ensure safer sleeping arrangements fully meet legal requirements

What parents should know

  • Ask the nursery to explain the changes it has made to sleeping arrangements and equipment.
  • Ask how the nursery now makes sure it reports changes to Ofsted as required.
  • Safer recruitment checks on staff were found to be effective.

What other providers can learn

  • Check that all changes required to be notified to Ofsted are reported promptly.
  • Review sleeping space and equipment against current legal requirements, even where not part of an original notification.

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 14 October 2026, the provider notified us about matters relating to significant events and suitable people. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted. However, we also found that the provider had previously failed to notify Ofsted of changes that we must be made aware of, which is a requirement of their registration.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 15 October 2026, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements and had taken action to put this right. Safer recruitment procedures are implemented effectively, to ensure that those people working with children are fully checked to verify their suitability.

p.1

Summary of outcome

Although not part of the original notification we found that the arrangements in place for safer sleeping did not meet current legal requirements. The provider took prompt action and has reviewed the space and the equipment used for the children when they sleep, to ensure they comply with the legal requirements.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years. For further information please read the Early years compliance handbook which can be found here at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-provider-non-compliance- action-by-ofsted .
