Deep dive

What this report says

In plain English

critical

The nursery is not meeting some legal requirements, with safeguarding and complaints actions still unmet after a follow-up call.

Ofsted inspected the setting on 13 October 2026 and found it was not meeting some legal requirements, so a welfare requirements notice was served. A telephone check on 22 October 2026 found some actions met, including updated safeguarding policies, a revised complaints policy and new staff supervision, but not one action on escalating concerns to external safeguarding agencies. A further welfare requirements notice has been served and Ofsted will monitor progress. The setting remains registered.

Going well

  • Safeguarding policies were reviewed and updated so staff know what to do about concerns
  • Complaints policy now explains how parents are kept informed during investigations
  • Staff supervision now identifies training needs and includes planned longer-term training

To improve

  • Staff must be confident in following safeguarding procedures, especially escalating concerns to external agencies
  • Safeguarding leads must act appropriately on whistleblowing and allegations against staff
  • Written complaints must be investigated effectively and required action taken

What parents should know

  • The setting is under a legal notice requiring it to put safeguarding actions right within set timescales.
  • Ask the setting how staff would escalate a concern about a child to external safeguarding agencies.
  • Ask how allegations against staff and written complaints are handled and how you would be kept informed.
  • The setting is still registered and Ofsted will check its progress.

What other providers can learn

  • Check that all staff know how to escalate safeguarding concerns to external agencies, not only internally.
  • Make sure safeguarding leads understand their duty to act on whistleblowing and allegations against staff.
  • Review complaints procedures so written complaints are investigated and actions are recorded.
