Deep dive

What this report says

In plain English

critical

Ofsted found the provider breached legal requirements on staff vetting and supervision, then confirmed both had been put right.

Inspectors visited in August 2026 and found the provider was not meeting some early years requirements and had not notified Ofsted of a previous significant event. A welfare requirements notice was issued, requiring improved recruitment, vetting and staff supervision. A monitoring visit on 1 October 2026 found the actions had been met, and the provider remains registered.

Going well

  • Provider reviewed and improved recruitment, vetting and staff supervision arrangements
  • Provider met the actions raised by Ofsted
  • Provider remains registered with Ofsted

To improve

  • Implement robust recruitment and vetting to assess suitability of all staff and adults
  • Obtain required information from references for all staff
  • Put in place regular, focused staff supervision showing ongoing suitability

What parents should know

  • The provider was found to have had weaknesses in checking staff suitability, which have since been addressed.
  • Parents may ask the provider how staff are vetted and supervised, and what changed after the welfare notice.
  • Parents can ask the provider for further information about the welfare requirements notice, which the provider is expected to share.

What other providers can learn

  • Check that all staff and adults have robust vetting and references on file, as a legal requirement.
  • Ensure regular, focused staff supervision that clearly demonstrates ongoing staff suitability.
  • Make sure significant events are notified to Ofsted as the law requires.

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.
