What this report says
In plain English
positiveMonitoring visit finds the supported accommodation has made progress against its compliance notice on suitability and leadership.
Ofsted returned to this supported accommodation provider to check progress against a compliance notice issued after concerns about how children were matched to live together and whether placements were suitable. Leaders now assess children's needs before they move in, and the provider is meeting the conditions of registration and working within its statement of purpose. Inspectors also found that children who needed to move were supported through the change.
Going well
- Leaders now assess children's needs and vulnerabilities before they move in
- Three children have moved in since the last visit, with suitability checked first
- All children are in education or employment and making progress with independent living
- Staff worked with social workers and supported a child through a move to a new home
What parents should know
- Ask how the service assesses whether your child is suitable to live with other young people before they move in.
- The service has recently been required to improve how it manages suitability, so ask how its decisions are reviewed.
- Children are supported to build independent living skills and to attend education or work.
What other providers can learn
- Check that your own admission decisions are recorded against each child's needs and vulnerabilities before placement.
- Keep your statement of purpose accurate so it reflects what you actually provide to children.
- When a child's needs can no longer be met, work with placing authorities early to plan the next move.
