What this report says

In plain English

mixed

Childminder had inspection concerns about outings and records, taken on, and is still registered with Ofsted.

Ofsted received a notification in August 2026 about staffing ratios, safety on outings and risk assessments. At a visit in October 2026 inspectors found the childminder was not meeting some legal requirements. The childminder had already improved risk assessments, missing child procedures and supervision on outings. Inspectors have issued an action to keep a daily record of children's names and attendance hours, and the childminder remains registered.

Going well

  • Risk assessments for outings were reviewed and improved
  • Missing child procedures were updated, including wrist bands with contact details
  • Supervision on outings was improved so children stay close and in sight or hearing
  • The childminder notified Ofsted of the significant events

To improve

  • Put effective procedures in place to record children's names and attendance hours daily

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 06 August 2026, the provider notified us about matters relating to concerns about staff: chid ratios, safety on outings and risk assessments. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of significant events.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 09 October 2026, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements and had taken action to put this right. The provider has reviewed and improved their risk assessments, including the safety of children while on outings. This helps to ensure children do not leave an area unattended and remain safe. In addition, the provider has reviewed and improved the missing child procedures, including incorporating the use of wrist bands that display her contact details. This measure supports the safe management of children should they move away from an area unnoticed. Furthermore, the provider has improved her supervision of children while on outings to ensure they remain in close proximity. This reduces the risks to children and helps to ensure children are adequality supervised and always within sight or hearing.

p.1

Summary of outcome

However, during the visit we found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have issued actions for the provider to take. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

¿ implement effective procedures to ensure a record of names of the children and the hours they attend the premises is completed daily. We will monitor the provider's response to ensure the action is successfully completed. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
