The investigation provides a clear analysis of staff practice, identifying both strengths and areas requiring improvement. This monitoring visit

Children's plans are reviewed by the senior support staff. The needs and risks for children are identified and actions for staff to follow are in place. Additionally, leaders and managers have a new system in place to ensure that staff understand children’s plans and their role in keeping children safe. However, the manager still does not have sufficient oversight of children's plans to minimise and manage risks.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have ensured that staff attended training about managing behaviour and understanding the expectations of their roles in safeguarding children. There are further plans in place to meet as a whole team to reflect on areas for improvement.

p.2

This monitoring visit

There has been one occasion when a child needed to be held to keep them safe. This was appropriately recorded and the manager identified where staff had not followed the child's plan. The manager spoke with the staff about the incident and discussed areas for improvement to reduce the need to hold children. Children are spoken to when they have been held. However, staff do not use the preferred methods of communication to seek their view. The manager acknowledged that this area of practice needs strengthening.
