p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder clearly understands the provision's strengths and where she wants to develop her practice further. She reflects on the quality of experiences she intends to provide and has clear plans for improvement. This includes strengthening practitioners' skills and continuing to develop outdoor and community-based experiences. Professional development is purposeful. The childminder monitors the assistant's practice through observation and regular discussion. She provides guidance when she identifies areas for development. For example, she is supporting the assistant to build confidence in storytelling. Further Makaton and WellComm training is planned to strengthen practitioners' knowledge of supporting children's communication and language.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Safeguarding is given high priority. The childminder demonstrates secure knowledge of safeguarding procedures, including whistleblowing and managing concerns about adults. She understands safer recruitment requirements and her responsibility to ensure that adults working with children are suitable. She also understands how to identify and manage potential risks, when children access the local community. The childminder understands the needs of families within the local community. She recognises the impact of disadvantage and considers how she can reduce barriers for families. She aims to keep costs manageable while providing varied experiences. She also plans opportunities for children to contribute to their community, including growing vegetables and supporting a local older peoples' home by donating food.

Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder is reflective and committed to developing the provision. However, she does not yet have sufficiently clear oversight of the arrangements associated with her individual registration. About this inspection
There were no early years children on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with the childminder and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
