What this report says
In plain English
criticalOfsted found the nursery was not fully meeting some requirements after safeguarding concerns, and the provider has since taken action to put these right.
Following a notification about safeguarding policies, whistleblowing and behaviour, Ofsted made a regulatory visit on 6 October 2026. Inspectors found the provider was not meeting some requirements, including weaknesses in previous safer recruitment practices and an earlier intervention could have occurred when concerns arose. The provider has since added training, revisited its procedures and taken steps to address the weaknesses. The provider remains registered with Ofsted and will be able to share further information with parents.
Going well
- Provider notified Ofsted of significant matters as required by the framework
- Provider identified its own weaknesses in recruitment practice
- Staff understood their duty to report concerns
- Provider has added training and revisited procedures to address weaknesses
To improve
- Recruitment practices must demonstrate rigorous safer recruitment
- Concerns should be acted on earlier so intervention is not delayed
- Procedures need to be applied consistently to safeguard children
What parents should know
- Ask the nursery what changes it has made to recruitment and safeguarding since this visit
- Ask how staff are trained to raise and act on concerns early
- The provider has said it will share further information with parents, so look out for this
What other providers can learn
- Check recruitment records to confirm safer recruitment checks are fully evidenced
- Make sure concerns are escalated promptly, not just recognised by staff
- Keep safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures under regular review and refresh training

Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundationstage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 4 September 2026, the provider notified us about matters relating to safeguarding policies and procedures, whistleblowing and supporting and understanding children's behaviour. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of any significant event which is likely to affect the suitability of any person who cares for/is in regular contact with children on the premises.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 6 October 2026, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements and had taken action to put this right. They had identified weaknesses in previous recruitment practices which had not demonstrated rigorous safer recruitment. In addition, they identified that although staff understood the requirement to report any concerns, an earlier intervention could have occurred. The provider has put in place additional training, revisited procedures and taken action to address any weaknesses.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
