Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2805163 1 Registered provider: Lucid Co-op Healthcare Ltd

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This privately owned home provides care for up to 3 children who experience emotional and social difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

At the time of this visit, there were no children living at the home.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The manager and home registered with Ofsted on 5 August 2025.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Following an ‘inadequate’ judgement at the full inspection on 2 and 3 June 2026, Ofsted issued a notice of proposal to suspend and, subsequently, a notice of proposal to cancel the registration of the home. This was due to significant concerns about the provider’s ability to provide safe and effective care to the child who had recently moved out of the home at the time of the full inspection.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A monitoring visit was conducted on 21 July 2026. The manager was starting to take action to address the shortfalls identified and there was some evidence of a commitment to improve the quality of care provided to children. The registered manager provided written representation, which was accepted, and notice of proposal to cancel was withdrawn on 22 July 2026. The suspension remains in place.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Staff have decorated children’s bedrooms with new soft furniture and set up a ‘snug’ room which is more child focused.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Staff have completed training on contextual safeguarding and diversity, which was identified as a shortfall at the last monitoring inspection. However, despite staff having completed training courses, they are unable to demonstrate the skills to implement their learning in practice. Staff cannot confidently identify what action is needed to ensure the safety of children. Additionally, the manager has not yet Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2805163 2 established effective systems to evaluate the impact of training on children’s experiences and outcomes.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Updates have been made to some documents following advice and action plans provided by the independent visitor, who last visited on 8 August 2026. However, these documents are not fully understood by staff and therefore are ineffective. The manager has not taken necessary steps to update and complete key documents required, such as the statement of purpose, care plan and risk assessment templates. These significant shortfalls raise concerns about the competence of managers and leaders.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The responsible individual has been absent from work since before the last full inspection in June 2026. The manager advised that an advert for the responsible individual position had gone out on 16 July 2026, however, the manager was not aware if anyone had responded to the advert. The lack of senior management oversight of the home significantly undermines the effectiveness of safeguarding practice, impedes staff development and delays improvement of the service.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Managers and staff have not made effective and sustainable changes to their practice. Staff and managers need to develop a sound understanding of how to provide individualised care that improves children’s outcomes.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The requirements set at the full inspection have been restated.
