Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders have clear practices and procedures to ensure staff work in the best interests of children. They are well organised and have high aspirations for what the club can provide. Leaders have robust recruitment, induction and supervision processes in place to help staff in their roles. They oversee staff suitability and the quality of practice. Leaders provide regular ongoing professional development and support staff to gain relevant qualifications to develop their work at the club.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders have an inclusive approach. They value their staff team and know that supporting their wellbeing is vital for staff to be happy, work effectively and thus help children enjoy their time at the club. Staff enjoy working in the club. Leaders include staff in all aspects of the club. They listen to them and value their contributions. Leaders use staff's ideas to develop practice and the team's effectiveness further. Leaders understand the value of reducing any barriers to children's wellbeing and/or involvement in the club. They are reflective and make changes to improve practice. They have more recently introduced additional arrangements, such as individual children's booklets. These help promote children's involvement, attendance and information-sharing.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders understand the importance of partnership working to provide consistent effective support for children. They lead the close liaison with parents and carers and teachers at the school. This supports the sharing of information and helps staff at the club get to know children and their needs. Leaders and staff follow many of the on-site school's practices, such as strategies for supporting children's behaviour, which offer children a beneficial consistent approach.

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors evaluate and grade only leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence from other evaluation areas through which to assess the impact on children.
