Childminder
Unique reference number (URN): 2836277 Registered with Ofsted: 28/10/2025 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder continues to meet most of the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She demonstrated an understanding of how to plan a curriculum that promotes children's learning across all seven areas of learning and development. A particular strength is her commitment to developing children's understanding of the world, with outdoor learning forming a central part of her curriculum. However, the childminder's understanding of curriculum implementation for babies and younger children is less well developed. Whilst she could describe broad curriculum intentions, she was not able to demonstrate a sufficiently secure understanding of how planning, interactions and experiences should be tailored to meet the unique developmental needs of children under the age of two.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder showed some understanding of safeguarding and was able to identify a range of signs and indicators of abuse and neglect and explain the appropriate actions to take in different safeguarding scenarios. However, the childminder has not accessed recent safeguarding training, and, as a result, there is a risk that her knowledge may not fully reflect current statutory guidance and best practice. To strengthen her safeguarding practice further, she should ensure that safeguarding training is updated regularly, so that she remains informed about current legislation, emerging safeguarding issues and reporting procedures.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder's knowledge of supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is not yet sufficiently developed. She was not able to explain how she would identify and meet the individual needs of all children with SEND or how she would adapt her practice to ensure they are fully included in learning and daily experiences. In addition, she was not able to clearly articulate the process for seeking advice and support from external agencies and professionals when concerns arise or when additional support is required.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
