Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): EY453705 Registered with Ofsted: 22/11/2012 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder is a reflective practitioner, who has ensured that she remains up to date with any changes that might affect her work as a childminder. She works effectively with her local safeguarding partners to maintain a secure awareness of the most pertinent safeguarding matters. Through further training, the childminder has developed her knowledge. For example, she is undertaking training in forest school practice, which she plans to use to shape any future curriculum. This development will enable her to offer children a more outdoor focused learning experience.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder discussed her arrangements for monitoring the progress of children through observations and tracking their progress over time. She explained how previously this has been beneficial for sharing information with parents about their children's development or sharing records with other professionals, where there is an indication that children may have an emerging special educational need and/or disability. In doing so, the childminder explains she has previously accessed support early on to develop plans for children's care. The childminder explains the measures she has in place to ensure that her assistants receive suitable support. Although the childminder does not currently have any children on roll, she continues to work closely with her co-childminders and assistants to share practice and review future plans for caring for children. She continues to develop training plans for her assistants so they understand any changes that might affect their work. Recently, the
