Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2663883 1 Registered Provider: Progressive Care Limited

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home is owned and managed by a private provider. It provides care for up to 4 children who may have social and emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The manager registered with Ofsted on 29 April 2026.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

No children were living at the home at the time of this visit.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 13 November 2025, Ofsted imposed a condition on the home’s registration. This was because there were no children living at the home and the provider advised that they had no intention of accepting new placements. This condition required the provider to notify Ofsted 3 months before it intends to move any children into the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 14 May 2026, the provider notified Ofsted of its intention to reopen. This monitoring visit took place to ensure that the home is ready to open and that it can provide safe care for children.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The provider has complied with its conditions of registration, and no children have been living in the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The home has an experienced and qualified manager who has been in the role since January 2026 and registered with Ofsted in April 2026. This time has allowed leaders and managers to ensure that suitable staff are recruited.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders have successfully recruited 4 members of staff and one deputy manager. Two further members of staff are going through the recruitment and induction stage. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2663883 2 Of those recruited, 3 staff have the relevant residential care qualification. The remaining staff have been enrolled onto the course and have already started to complete the qualification.

p.1

This monitoring visit

All staff, except the manager, will be subject to a probationary period. This will ensure that staff have the right skills to be able to meet the needs of children. The staff who are already working in the home are currently undertaking an extensive induction period.

p.2

This monitoring visit

There are shortfalls in safer recruitment checks of staff. Managers do not always seek verbal verification of why previous roles working with children or vulnerable adults have ended. Records are unclear about the rationale for why staff have been employed, especially when verbal verification has not taken place.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home environment has been refreshed. It is a spacious, well-appointed home that continues to be suitable for children to live in.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Some requirements have been restated. This is because no children have lived in the home since the last inspection, and therefore improvements remain untested. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2663883 3
