Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2807058 1 Registered provider: Prosperity Children’s Services
p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This home is privately owned and provides care for one child who may experience social and emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
One child was living in the home at the time of the inspection.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The manager has applied to register with Ofsted.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This home was judged inadequate at a full inspection on 24 and 25 June 2026. Following this inspection, Ofsted issued 3 compliance notices under section 22A of the Care Standards Act 2000. These related to regulation 12, the protection of children standard, regulation 13, the leadership and management standard and regulation 14, the care planning standard.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was carried out to monitor the action taken by the provider to meet the compliance notices.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have not taken effective action to address the identified actions in the compliance notices. Since the last inspection, incidents within the home have continued to escalate in severity and risk, staff responses have remained poor. On one occasion, staff witnessed the child consume vape liquid to self-injure and did not take action to prevent this or safeguard the child.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Although the manager has implemented new systems to strengthen oversight of the home, she does not effectively evaluate incidents. The manager does not consistently identify poor staff practice or take appropriate action to address it. As a Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2807058 2 result, staff continue to respond inconsistently to incidents, leaving the child at ongoing risk of harm.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff do not take appropriate action to prevent the child from harming themselves or others and rely heavily on police intervention and parental support to manage incidents. Consequently, the child regularly reports feeling unsafe in the care of staff.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Risk assessments and behaviour support plans have been updated. However, staff do not consistently follow the agreed plans. During incidents, staff do not share a consistent approach in line with the child’s plans and this has not been identified or effectively addressed by the manager within staff discussions or supervisions.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff have completed additional training to help them meet the child's identified needs. However, staff have not applied this learning effectively in practice. Consequently, the training has not improved staff's understanding of the child's risks or enhanced their ability to respond to and meet the child's needs effectively.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Transitions out of the home continue to be poor. At the time of the visit, the child had remained in hospital for a number of weeks with no planned return to the home. Although staff were continuing to support the child in hospital with the support of agency staff, staff within the home are unable to meet the child’s needs safely.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Due to the lack of improvements and significant concerns identified, Ofsted took the decision to immediately suspend the home at the time of the visit. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2807058 3
