p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder demonstrates a thorough understanding the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She discusses how she maintains her knowledge and remains up to date with recent changes to legislation and guidance. For example, the childminder has prepared the setting and purchased equipment to ensure safer sleeping and safer eating procedures can be implemented to keep children safe. The childminder has maintained her first-aid training and receives regular updates from the local authority early years team. This helps her to know about changes to the child protection team and their procedures to follow if concerns about children are identified.

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.2
About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors evaluate and grade only leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence from other evaluation areas through which to assess the impact on children.
