Information about this children’s home

This home is privately owned and registered to provide care for up to 3 children who may be experiencing social and emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

There were no children living at the home at the time of the inspection. The home is currently suspended.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The registered manager left their role in March 2026. A new manager is in post and has submitted an application to register.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This home was judged inadequate at a full inspection on 28 and 29 April 2026. Due to significant shortfalls in safeguarding practices, Ofsted took the decision to suspend the home on the second day of inspection.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit was carried out to monitor the action taken by the provider to address the concerns identified within the suspension notice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A new manager and responsible individual are in post and have submitted their respective applications to Ofsted. However, shortfalls continued to be identified within safer recruitment practices. Concerns raised within one reference have not been suitably explored, other references have failed to be verified, and not all newly recruited staff have the relevant DBS information within their personal recruitment files.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have taken some steps to identify the gaps in staff training and some staff have plans to revisit anti-ligature and first-aid training. However, not all staff have completed additional training and the learning and reflection completed with staff is limited. In addition, leaders and managers have not used team meetings to revisit safeguarding issues identified at the last inspection, including allegation Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2845325 2 management and physical intervention. This is a missed opportunity for staff to reflect, learn lessons and strengthen their practice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Since the last inspection, Leaders and managers have completed supervision sessions with staff. However, these sessions do not focus on the shortfalls identified at the last inspection. As a result, staff are not appropriately supported to reflect on their practice or identify learning that would assist improvement or professional development.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Some areas of the home have been redecorated, and broken items have been fixed. However, paintwork is not always completed to a high standard, and stains remain on communal walls and on areas of carpet such as in a child’s bedroom. Additionally, locks on communal doors have not been replaced.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager has not completed a quality of care review and has not updated the statement of purpose to reflect changes in the home. As a result, two further requirements were raised at this visit. The remaining requirements regarding areas of concern raised at the full inspection were not considered during this visit. They remain in place and will be reviewed at the home’s next inspection.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Following this visit, a case review decision resulted in a further suspension notice being issued for the provider. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2845325 3
