Leaders and managers have responded well to the outcome of the last inspection. They have put an action plan in place to address the compliance notices. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2862247 2 Risk assessments for children have been reviewed and updated. A new colour-coded system has been introduced for assessing children’s risks. This is aimed at helping the staff’s understanding of children’s current risks and concerns. Staff spoken to during this visit were able to describe the child’s risks and explain how they are managed to ensure that consistent boundaries are implemented.

This monitoring visit
During this visit, the inspector spoke to the child’s social worker, who provided positive feedback about the home and how the child is being supported and safeguarded in terms of sharing crucial information with the professional network.

This monitoring visit
New systems have been introduced to strengthen oversight and monitoring, including trackers for missing from care, safeguarding, key working, education and incidents. These provide managers with clear colour-coded visual oversight, enabling emerging issues, gaps in practice and outstanding actions to be identified quickly.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Some systems are still being developed for care planning and have not yet been tested. Leaders and managers are currently working on these to ensure that, when planning for new children to move into the home, care planning enables the provider to assess whether staff have the skills and knowledge required to meet children’s needs.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, staff have received regular supervision. Staff report that supervision is supporting their practice alongside weekly team meetings. Training has also taken place to help develop staff practice. Weekly team meetings are also used to support learning.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have taken effective action to address staffing arrangements. New staff are currently being recruited to ensure that there are sufficient staffing levels to safely meet children’s needs when the home is fully occupied.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The leadership team was new in post at the time of the last inspection. The responsible individual is more present in the home, which has helped to promote stability. A new independent person has been employed, further strengthening practice and oversight.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, the home has been refurbished. The home is more homely and welcoming. Processes for maintenance oversight have been introduced. However, during this visit, shortfalls were identified, including the child needing more support to manage their environment and cleanliness.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The provider has met the compliance notices. Four requirements from the previous inspection have been met, and the other 3 will be reviewed at the next full inspection. Recommendations from the last inspection were not considered during this visit. The notice restricting accommodation remains in place.
