This monitoring visit
This children’s home was judged inadequate following the full inspection on 1, 2 and 11 June 2026. Serious shortfalls in safeguarding children and the management of the home were identified. Ofsted served 2 compliance notices regarding the help and protection of children and the leadership and management of the home. A restriction of accommodation was issued.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was carried out to monitor the actions taken by the provider in response to the steps in the compliance notices. The provider has taken appropriate action and at this visit the compliance steps are met.
p.1
This monitoring visit
One child lives at the home and has remained at the home following the inadequate judgement at the previous inspection. The inspector observed warm and appropriate interactions between the child and staff.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have taken effective action to address fire safety and strengthen the management oversight of the home. A comprehensive fire risk assessment has been completed by a suitably qualified individual. The manager has acted on the recommendations arising from the assessment, including the installation of a lockable lid on the external bin to reduce identified risks. Staff’s knowledge and understanding of fire safety have been assessed through individual competency checks. The staff have had additional training to further develop their awareness and confidence in responding to fire-related incidents. As a result, staff Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2780237 2 are better equipped to recognise and manage fire risks. These actions have improved the fire safety arrangements helping to ensure that risks are appropriately identified, managed and reviewed to safeguard the children and staff.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have increased safeguarding arrangements through the introduction of effective monitoring systems. Safeguarding concerns and management decisions are recorded and reviewed daily by leaders, ensuring that actions are identified and addressed. As a result, children benefit from a safer environment in which concerns are recognised, recorded and responded to appropriately.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have developed the admission’s processes. Referrals are carefully reviewed by the registered manager and responsible individual to ensure that the home can meet a child's needs and that admissions are appropriate. Additional professional oversight is provided during the matching process, and children are not admitted without management agreement. These improvements have enhanced the quality of decision-making, to increase placement stability and ensure that children are only admitted when the home can safely and effectively meet their needs.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Safer recruitment practices are subject to management oversight for all new appointments. The registered manager reviews the recruitment checks completed by the provider's recruitment team to ensure that all requirements have been satisfactorily met before a start date is confirmed. This provides assurance that appropriate safeguarding checks have been undertaken and that only individuals deemed suitable to work with children are employed at the home.
p.2

Some of the requirements from the previous inspection could not be evaluated during this visit and therefore these have been restated.
