p.1

Information about this children's home

At the time of this inspection, no children were living in the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This children's home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 5 and 6 May 2026. Inspectors identified significant shortfalls in safeguarding practice and in the leadership and management of the home. As a result, compliance notices were issued under Section 22A of the Care Standards Act 2000 in relation to regulation 13, the leadership and management standard, and regulation 12, the protection of children standard.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This monitoring visit evaluated the provider's progress in meeting the compliance notices.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have implemented a range of new policies, procedures and monitoring systems. The provider's assessment, care planning and safeguarding arrangements have been strengthened.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Managers have introduced new processes to support effective decision-making when considering referrals. They now complete formal compatibility assessments that consider each child's needs, potential safeguarding risks, staff skills and experience and relevant training. Managers have also developed tracking tools to support planning and oversight of children's experiences. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2780495 2 Leaders and managers have improved how children's risks are assessed and managed. New risk-assessment and monitoring systems provide clearer analysis of risks and guidance for staff. Management oversight and evaluation are now embedded within recording systems. Behaviour support plans include clear, proactive strategies to reduce risk. Updated safeguarding procedures have been shared and discussed in team meetings, and staff understand how to keep children safe.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Staff have completed a range of mandatory and specialist training. Staff now have the knowledge and skills to meet children's needs.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have strengthened monitoring and quality-assurance systems. Oversight is now formalised through lessons-learned reviews, comprehensive monthly monitoring and weekly management-oversight documents. One lessons-learned review did not include a key practice shortfall from a previous incident, but a framework is now in place to evaluate and respond to incidents more effectively.

p.2

This monitoring visit

No children have moved into the home since the compliance notices were issued, so some new systems and processes have not yet been tested in practice. At a case review meeting following the visit, it was agreed that the provider has taken sufficient action to meet the compliance notices.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The requirements made at inspection were outside the scope of this visit and will be reviewed at future inspections. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2780495 3
