p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1

This home registered with Ofsted in June 2025 and is operated by a private company. It provides care for one child who may experience social and emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The registered manager has given notice to leave. An interim manager has recently been recruited.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
At the time of this visit, no children were living in the home. One child had recently left the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This home was judged inadequate following a full inspection on 6 and 7 May 2026. Poor practice was identified in areas of safeguarding, risk management and leadership. Three compliance notices relating to Regulations 12, 13 and 32 were issued under section 22A of the Care Standards Act 2000.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The inspector found that leaders and managers have met the actions set out in the compliance notice relating to Regulation 13. Leaders and managers have failed to meet all the actions set out in the compliance notices relating to Regulations 12 and 32, and these have therefore been reissued.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Requirements not subject to compliance were not explored during this visit and will be reviewed at the next full inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to review whether leaders and managers have taken the necessary steps to meet the requirements of the compliance notices. The interim Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2806866 2 manager was present for the visit and is overseeing the day-to-day running of the home. There have been no children living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, the management arrangements have changed. The registered manager has given notice, and an interim manager has recently been appointed. The interim manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have not taken sufficient action to ensure that staff understand the risks associated with child criminal exploitation. Consequently, staff are not consistently equipped to identify, respond to or reduce potential risks. Furthermore, planned and direct work has not taken place with children to increase their understanding of risks. The interim manager has identified these weaknesses and has recognised the need for additional staff training.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Oversight of children’s internet use and online activity has not been robust and has limited staff’s ability to ensure that they are protected from potential harm online. The interim manager has identified that arrangements need strengthening and has introduced strategies to improve oversight of children’s online activity. However, it is too early to evaluate the impact of this change on safeguarding practices.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The interim manager has reviewed previous safeguarding incidents to identify lessons learned and evaluate the effectiveness of the home’s responses. This has enabled them to identify gaps in practice and implement actions to strengthen safeguarding arrangements. As a result, the interim manager has ensured that significant incidents are communicated effectively to external agencies. This has helped to ensure that appropriate action is taken when safeguarding concerns arise.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The interim manager held a team meeting and set out clear expectations for staff and their practice. This ensures that staff understand their responsibilities in caring for children and keeping them safe. The manager is focused on safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures. There are plans in place to continue to develop staff and educate them about their roles and responsibilities.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The interim manager has identified that staff require further training in relation to their responses when children go missing from home. Pending this training, the manager has clearly communicated expectations to staff to ensure that appropriate action is taken if children go missing.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The interim manager has monitoring systems in place to ensure that any shortfalls in staff practice are identified and addressed. Audits of the home have taken place and are in progress to ensure effective oversight of the quality of the care children receive.
p.2
This monitoring visit
A full staff team is not yet in place, and recruitment for vacant posts is ongoing. These changes have limited the interim manager’s ability to fully implement and Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2806866 3 embed improvements. To strengthen management oversight, the interim manager plans to carry out an audit on all staff files to ensure that safer recruitment practices are adhered to.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Following this visit, a case review was held on 6 July 2026, during which it was agreed that the provider had met some of the actions set out in the compliance notices. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2806866 4
