Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): 2536411 Registered with Ofsted: 30/08/2019 Registers: EYR, CCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement

The childminder has not maintained effective oversight of the provision to ensure that all statutory requirements are met. The childminder knows the possible signs of abuse and neglect and how to act in case of concerns about children's welfare. However, the childminder does not follow safe recruitment procedures or implement effective risk assessments relating to the use of assistants. For example, she allows assistants who are personally known to her to begin work before references are obtained. As a result, safeguarding arrangements do not provide sufficient reassurance that children are protected.

p.1

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement

The childminder has not ensured that her garden is sufficiently secure and free from hazards, which is a condition of her registration. However, the impact on children is currently limited because there are no children on roll. The provider is aware she needs to address this before reopening the setting.

p.1

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement

The childminder understands the importance of working collaboratively with parents and relevant professionals to identify concerns and implement strategies to ensure all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, receive appropriate support to learn and make progress.

p.3

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors evaluate and grade only leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence from other evaluation areas through which to assess the impact on children.

p.3

Exceptional

Practice is exceptional: of the highest standard nationally. Other settings can learn from it.

p.4

Strong standard

The setting reaches a strong standard. Leaders are working above the standard expected of them.

p.4

Expected standard

p.4

Needs attention
