Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The home is owned and managed by a private provider. It provides care for up to 3 children who may experience social and emotional difficulties and who may have learning disabilities. One child was living in the home at the time of this inspection.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
There has been no registered manager at the home since 16 October 2025. The manager has submitted their application to register with Ofsted.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was undertaken to address specific concerns or allegations received by Ofsted. This was particularly in respect of staff sufficiency, the suitability of the home environment and the lack of management presence in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the child moved in, the number of staff required to keep the child safe has increased. There have been times when there have not been enough permanent staff to care for the child. On most of these days, staff from other homes have provided support. There have also been times when the manager and deputy have supported caring for the child. The records of the times when managers have had to care for the child are unclear. This prevents oversight of how frequently managers are being taken away from their management roles.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff at the home at the time of the inspection said that they feel supported by management. They understand the on-call arrangements for times when managers are not in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff have needed to hold the child frequently to keep the child or staff safe. There have been occasions when staff have been injured while they were holding the child. After incidents, staff are spoken to. These conversations are usually reflective and focus on staff wellbeing. Managers take what staff say seriously, and this has led to positive changes in practice as well as consultations with external services. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2747219 2 The child sometimes does things that can cause harm to themselves. The plans around how staff should respond and what staff should do afterwards are unclear. This does not give staff clear guidance and leaves too much to individual interpretation, which could lead to inconsistent responses. The records of staff responses following the child’s self-injury are poor. They do not give a clear picture of what staff have done or why. This prevents managers from having oversight and

ensuring practice aligns with the child’s plans.
p.2
This monitoring visit
There have been changes to the environment, such as new flooring downstairs. This is to improve hygiene in the home. There have also been alterations to walls to reduce potential harm. There is a plan to move the office from the kitchen area to one of the living spaces downstairs. This was not yet completed at this visit.
